What the site uses
| Item | Purpose | When it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Portfolio session cookie | Remembers that you have entered the portfolio password during your visit, so you don't have to enter it on every page. | Always. It is needed for the portfolio to work and ends when you close your browser. |
| Cookie choice (stored in your browser) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so the cookie banner doesn't reappear. | Always. Stored in your browser's local storage. |
| Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages are viewed. Used to understand how the site is used and to improve it. | Only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. Google Analytics sets its own cookies at that point. |
Google Analytics
If you accept, Google Analytics records information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your browser and device type, and how you arrived at the site. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. Data is kept for [CONFIRM retention period, set in your Google Analytics account].
The password request and contact details are sent only if you choose to email me. Analytics does not record the password you enter.
Your choices
You can accept or decline analytics at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of the homepage. Declining means Google Analytics does not load and no analytics cookies are set.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how it is used. To do so, email contact@ricardomedici.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
